Curriculum

We provide a structured and a child initiated programme which caters for all needs, as a group as well as individuals. The children have one structured time in the morning, group music session and mat times before meals. The rest of the time there are different activities out for the children to be involved in or they can choose to play in a different area. During structured time the children are learning to be part of a group, follow instructions and experience different areas. During this time the children are in groups of the same age, or development.
 
We keep files on children’s development and progress. Filing samples of artwork, photographs, and observations together in a portfolio that can be taken home by the parent at the end of each term. All the children’s programme planning is done by all the teachers/educators and is based on Te Whaaiki (The Early Childhood Curriculum)
 
Meals

We supply the children’s morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. We have a full-time cook who creates nutritious meals for all our children. Water is served with lunch and is available to the children at their request. We offer the children milk at morning and afternoon tea.

The daily menu is pinned on the notice board at the Childcare.
